FIRE AND EMERGENCY MANUFACTURERS AND SERVICES ASSOCIATION

Originally developed to counter biological and chemical threats to national security, D7 is used in a variety of military, defense, and public safety applications. D7 tackles the toughest contamination challenges, neutralizing toxic and/or deadly chemicals, bacteria, and viruses within minutes.

Decon7 is composed of a team of strategic advisers, which possess expertise in chemistry, microbiology, manufacturing, marketing, planning, and distribution. Decon7 Systems has solved the complex chemical and engineering issues by creating multiple patented best in class delivery systems to effectively apply and distribute our patented D7 foam products.

D7 is a chemical detoxifier that has proven applications for firefighter turnout gear. Whether applied as a spray, foam, or soak, D7 neutralizes and removes the toxic chemicals typically found in turnout gear without the need for scrubbing. D7 has been tested according to NFPA 1851 and passed all tests, including semi-volatile organic compound reduction, heavy metal reduction, and biological contamination reduction.

This summer Decon7 partnered with RedLine Gear Cleaning to launch a mobile decontamination unit for firefighter gear in Texas and across the South-Central United States.

RedLine Gear Cleaning has developed a state-of-the-art Mobile Extraction Unit® (MEU), a self-contained decontamination station that can clean substantial amounts of firefighter turnout gear directly at a fire station by using the chemical detoxification power of D7. Known as a “high-tech mobile laundromat,” the fourth MEU deployed in the country will be operated by Decon7 Systems. The new Texas location marks the first major expansion for RedLine Gear Cleaning and its first partner-operated location.

Traditional turnout gear cleaning methods can take weeks to be completed and can cost departments tens of thousands of dollars, often leaving firefighters with inadequate and dirty gear for an extended period. As the only on-premises gear cleaning service in the industry, RedLine can clean and inspect over 40 sets of gear including helmets, boots, gloves, jackets, and liners and have them ready for service in less than a day, which has been verified by both verification agencies in accordance with the new NFPA 1851 verification testing.
