FIRE AND EMERGENCY MANUFACTURERS AND SERVICES ASSOCIATION

W. L. Gore & Associates

From firefighters and EMS personnel to law enforcement officials and SWAT teams, first responders venture into some of the most dangerous environments imaginable. To do their jobs, they need garments that keep them protected without creating unnecessary physiological burden.

Gore created the first waterproof, breathable protective barrier for the fire service and continues to develop technology that goes above and beyond National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards. Through their expansive product line, Gore provides solutions from head to toe that offer superior protection while at the emergency scene.
Gore engages with first responders to understand their challenges on the job. From these interactions, GORE® fabrics are designed to meet the needs of the end user by providing:

  • increased comfort due to highly breathable barriers that help manage heat stress better in a broad range of conditions
  • certified protection from hazards found at emergency scenes
  • long-lasting durability for excellent field performance call after call

For over 35 years, W. L. Gore & Associates have applied these principles to design life-critical protective fabrics. GORE® Protective Fabrics used in garments, boots and gloves allow users to focus on their mission and not their protective gear.

Recently, the GORE® PARALLON™ Liner System, a highly breathable multi-layered system, is engineered to pull sweat away from the skin while also preventing serious drops in thermal protection that can occur as your gear gets wet, particularly from sweat. This allows for more consistent performance without sacrificing protection.

NFPA-certified ensembles with durable, lightweight GORE® CHEMPAK® fabrics allow users to stay engaged longer, while providing enhanced functionality in physically demanding hot and warm zone environments.

For law enforcement, GORE-TEX, and GORE® WINDSTOPPER® fabrics provide all-weather protection with all-day comfort whether they’re inside or outside. The fabrics are durable, lightweight, and highly breathable.

Gore takes pride in being globally recognized as a pioneer in protection and human comfort science, continuing to offer best-in-class products that provide solutions for challenging conditions.
